For damage options you can build soul reaver, soul gem or gem of iso since if you buff your allies with ur 2 it counts as Fafnir's damage,so it can proc all those items. Honestly Fafnir's 2 is very interesting, it has plenty of cool interactions with other characters(see the one shot nemesis video by solodoublej). He is also one of the few characters who can reduce tower or phoenix protections using spear of the magus and buffing himself with his 2 which I think is pretty cool. But mind you build these items only if you are ahead and extremely confident in not needing any more defense.
Hopefully I haven't said anything wrong, if I had, someone can correct me as the discussion progresses and hope it is helpful :)
Hes also advocating chronos pendant which is.... Yikes
Ofcourse aura Item's are necessery as support. heartstone amulett example.
So basicly you go 2 - 3 aura items, cdr boots or CC reductionboots , depends on enemy team , and how much cc they have!
then you can go CDR Armor, or genji's or shoguns it really depends on your team and opponents team.
If he got more phisical dmg, i would go cdr armor int mantle (after both aura items )
if the enemy team has more magical dmg, you can go after cdr armor into genji's-
is your enemy adc a Mage, like sol. you can go first item heartstone amulett -> boots -> genji's
Basicly you want in the lategame this stats
30-40 CDR%
About 250 armor
About 250 magic resi
2-3 Aura items
Relics , Tier 2 sprint, and also tier 2 horrific i would say. im not a fan of shell or meditation!
Also if you are not that far behind in lvl's, and you got alot of magical dmg in your team, you could also go for voidstone, to push the dmg little bit from your mages, and also from you a little bit.
But overall, he is tricky.
If you miss your 1 constantly, dont play him ;P
Same as ares , someone wrote it allready, if you wanna play ares and miss your chain alltime, you are useless.
Same scenario on fafnir,
He has a disarm with his jump, and a stun. he is not able to help you pushing your lane.
He is a very offensive supporter, but only in the case he hit his skills ofc. otherwise he is very useless.
Also a lil bit sad to see u don't play conquest. Fafnir's real strength can be realised in conquest. IMO he is the true late game offensive support, the opposite side of the coin of geb. While it's impossible to kill a team who has geb late game, Fafnir's late game team shreds through objectives and enemies alike through his coerce. And he can very well kill a carry himself late game through his 5 min stun :)
Have fun
