Who decided Thanatos' ultimate was good?

Makes it insanely easy to rotate? Correct!
Does plenty of damage? Correct!
Comes with a hard CC? Correct!
Executes, and therefore can secure stupid levels of healing for Thanatos? Correct!
Can use it to escape if timed correctly, and has excellent movement so that you can get away without any consequence? Correct!

Is there anything this easy gank button press bollocks doesn't do?

Meh, it's a fine ult, easy to counter especially if teammates are near by, and most assassin ults have something to do with easy ganking.

If it's used to escape that's usually on you for letting him, that charge up time is a ♥♥♥♥♥ and anyone that can do damage, will usually gut him even if he's at full health

it is a strong asset of his kit, but he has lots of weaknesses and his ult is one of few things that keep him from being underpowered.

you can actually predict its landing, there is a very short audio que that tells you when he's falling (not as obvious as rat or apollo, but its there) and you can time an aegis/puri against it to throw him off. it can be hard to get used to.

it helps to know how much time he has in the air, too. thana is quite slow in his ult, so if you see him coming, look for when he's hovering right over you, and test the enemy to see if they like waiting in the air more often or dunking you as soon as they get the chance. you can use blink/escape abilities to get away from him too, and usually throw him out of position.

The only ult that it's anywhere near is Loki or Thor's, and Thor's is much less cancerous with his kit. Arachne, Fenrir, Bastet, Da Ji. Al of their ults are big, bright obvious ways of knowing when one is incoming and what to do to avoid it. Pop beads, or use your escape, or whatever it might be.

As for escaping... Watch as your allies are butchered. Charge up as the enemies come to you, Zoidberg the ♥♥♥♥ outta there as soon as they get to your location.

Not to mention that it encourages killstealing.

Well, this is, if he misses his 1, he is ♥♥♥♥♥♥. that's literally all you have to watch out for.

Rata, Da Ji, and Arachne's ult can function pretty similar in ganking lanes actually.
And ehh, not none are really that obvious, at least compared to Thana's ult

If he was already escaping before they got to him then that's pretty fair tbh

Kill-stealing only has at least some merit if it's the support or solo taking it, otherwise, a fed jungle can be just as great as a fed mid or adc

More of a kill SECURE than a kill STEAL. It also heals him, so, if he needs to health, let him have it, even if you could get it as easily (ideally not if they are going to escape if YOU don't get it).

Literally one of the easiest ults to juke out of , just always keep an eye out and you'll dodge it every time

It wouldn't be so annoying if the game doesn't randomly have lag when activating your relics.

As a diamond Thana, his ult is one of the easiest to dodge in the game. Anybody with a dash/leap/aegis is pretty much immune to it if they have ears.

Same goes for a lot of ultimates though. That or beads.

Conversely, it's also really easy to hit the ultimate on people who don't have a dash, or have recently used it. Just keep them right in the center, and activate the ultimate. You should hit them regardless of how they try to duke. If they aegis, wait a second, then use 1+3 (2 whilst waiting). Or, aegis is now down for next time.
