Smite lore?

I know this game has no real focus on it but anyone know why gods are fighting?

I feel they did have a section that explained why the gods from different pantheons are fighting (taking place in what you know as SMITE), but I'm not exactly sure anymore. It was probably explained in a previous Odyssey event, but idk.

The only lore you can really find are just about the gods themselves.

Might be different for each god.
For example Thanatos likely wants to reap all souls, including the gods (says something along those lies in his lore section).

They had this lore video very long ago, But it dosent really explain much. I would recommend you to read the smite's all prev year Odyssey lores since they are directly related to game's lore.

The gods were sending hurricanes and disasters down on earth and stuff, so humans began rebelling against them, so the gods split into 2 sides: the order, whhich wanted to punish the humans, and the elysian uprising (chaos) who just wanteed peace, so basically, they fought and stuff till Anubis switched sides and decided to help the mortals in Greece, Hades was angry at that and they fought, but it was stopped by Zeus, it was clear that there might be a war upcoming, so previous members of Chaos decided to draw borders between pantheons, while Order just wanted to start a war, SPOILER: suddenly, Zeus was murdered and they blamed it all on Egypt, but the true murderers were actually Hel and Ao Kuang, Hel wanted the thunderbolt to unbind Fenrir and start ragnarok, Ao kuang would help her if Hel stole the magic cudgel from Sun Wukong then, Greek soldiers commanded by Athena invaded Egypt for revenge, Ra said that they are innocent and sent them to Neith for her to try and make logic of what happened. Meanwhile, Loki stole Zeus's thunderbolt and is wrecking chaos, Hel tried to stop him (to claim the thunderbolt for herself) but Loki attacks her but refuses to kill her because she is his daughter. Ares, wanting for war, invades Egypt and kills Anhur and Ra, while Hel tries to kill Ao Kuang with Sun Wukongs magic cudgel, Sun Wukong notices his weapon missing and Ao Kuang tells him the truth.
Athena, Mercury and Neith chase Loki, Odin sends out Thor to stop Loki and Loki is led away in chains while shouting that ragnarok will happen soon, no one believes him and Hel takes the thunderbolt and unchains Fenrir to start ragnarok.

I apriciate the awnsers! I find the story intresting although a bit all over the place. Hi-rez should consider maybe an adventure explaining why they fight or the start of the conflict in a dungeon style or special type of pvp. They certainly have something to work with!
