How on EARTH do I build Chiron??
I have tried so many builds for Chiron including the two most recent ones:

#1) Ninja Tabi, Wind Demon, Executioner, Qin Sai, Deathbringer, Malice

#2 (highly rated build I found) Transcendence, Warrior Tabi, Asi, Qin Sai, Titan's Bane, Odysseus

Not one of the freaking 8 builds I've tried feels strong enough. Compared to the other ADC's like Anhur and Cernnunos and Medusa this guy feels like he's just tickling them and not even really hurting them... I honestly found the crit builds hit the hardest with him since his dmg seems to stack like crap so might as well at least make them hit harder.

For number 1, I would suggest Rage instead of Malice, maybe swap Qins with a lifesteal item - Asi for Attack speed, which should help with critting more often.

For number 2, Swap Odysseus for anything else, I don't understand the attraction to it in the late game. Also consider Bloodforge instead of Asi. That build seems geared more for ability damage, so you want the damage on Bloodforge more than the Attack Speed on Asi.

I think (haven't played him for ages) I would normally build, with stacking items early where applicable;
Attack Speed Build
- Ninja Tabi
- Executioner
- Asi/Devs Gloves
- Rage
- Deathbringer
- Situational (might need Magis Blessing against CC, or Winged Blade for slows, otherwise Wind Demon for more attack speed)

Ability Damage Build
- Warrior Tabi
- Transendence
- Qins (to boost the basics that I do use)
- Titans Bane
- Bloodforge
- Situational (probably another pen item, otherwise Magi's/Winged Blade again)

Why the hate on Malice these days? It's 75% of your attack power in damage and it offers decent stats as well. * I should mention that it's crit triggered and refreshes every critical strike.

I think the second one is geared towards just fast hits thus the odysseus but idk it's weird regardless.

Because Malice in S4 just isn't worth it. Rage gives you the best crit chance in one item once it stacks, so if you're going a crit build on a Hunter you want Rage. Then Deathbringer gives the bonus damage from the passive which is just flat out more damage than Malice, so you need that also.

But the main reason is Malice's DoT doesn't stack, you just reset the timer, so with enough attack speed you aren't actually getting all of the damage from its passive on a Hunter. Even on Assassins who can get guaranteed/ability crits Deathbringer is better for S4 because of this.

That's why for S5 they nerfed/changed Deathbringer to make it more useful for Hunters while basically flat out stating they want Malice to be more useful for ability crits. The lower bonus damage but greater chance of critting on S5 Deathbringer makes it less attractive if you've got an ability already giving you the crit, and for Hunters the increased crit chance almost makes up for the loss of bonus damage.

So basically even in S5 HiRez is saying Malice isn't really meant for Hunters... So make of that what you will, but that's why we say Rage instead of Malice for Chiron: slightly less damage and a greater chance of not even getting all of that damage.

It's not really geared towards fast attacks. The only thing that really benefits from it there is the Qins.

With Transendence it suggests more use of abilities, hence why I thought it focused on ability damage. If it were Devs Gloves, I'd have said attack speed (lifesteal only works on baiscs for physical gods).Crit also relies on attack speed, whereas pen doesn't quite as much (again item choices suggest this too - Titans Bane).

And Emeth explained the Malice point better than I would have.

ability hunters built for very high damage may use Malice due to low attack speed.
You could also use it in poking situations. On continuously running enemies. Or while fighting stealth gods - tick damage will reveal them and some may run too late and die from Malice passive. In othere situations the passive is just wasted. Wind demon gives you more escape and chasing potential. While Rage gives higher crit chance.

I occasionally use Malice in Arena on Cupid, because everyone runs there, often too late and there are plenty of squishies and Lokis. Also Cupid has that "have a nice day" Heart bomb mechanic already so Malice just boosts that if you manage to score a crit (which is when most get scared and start running). No need to chase or finish, you know that one won't reach fountain ever.
But that's about it.

chiron is borderline unplayable if you are behind and his ulti is really slow. sometimes i attack with the ult and it wont go off unless i click it again because of the time between the shots and by then either the enemy would have juked it or i would have to line it up again and miss it. he has no cc other than a simple slow from his 2 and his dash is the most interruptible. really long cooldowns for low power skills. the only unique thing he has is if you where to die and kill someone with your ulti you come back to life but as i said earlier it's not easy to use. you should probably find another hunter.

having said all that tho chiron is my second x hunter because i really like him and i hate how underpowered he is compared to other hunters. the only time you can actualy dominate is if you are ahead.

I like going with old builds on most hunters.

Ninja Tabi-->Devo-->Exec-->Wind Demon-->Deathbringer-->Titans bane/Malice/Poison star
