Cthulhu is not a God implemented yet.
So why ? It feels like a thrown away opportunity.

Cthulhu isn't from a pantheon that is in smite. The pantheon he is from is actually not a pantheon in the real world

no no no, that one is purple colored
thing is, cthulhu is not an actually god in any sense of the word god. He is not worship by any real life cultures, he was not created by any tribes or civiliations, he is not an explaination or personification for fundamental forces or phenomon, he does not factor into any creation myths, he is not omnipotent. In fact in some cthulhu stories, it is implied that all the mythos creatures are not gods, but rather just aliens. cthulthu is not even all that power or important in the cthulthu mythos pantheon. If you must add some from the cthulthu mythos, there are better choices like Yog-Sothoth, or azathoth.

I will say this much though, if Hi Rez where to add fiction gods, it would most likely be the cthulhu mythos gods because a lot if not all of HP lovecraft's works are in the public domain. IT would be far more likely than them adding gods from dragonball, warhammer, warhammmer 40k or what not.

they could always add more patheons. They have done so in the past with celtic, japanese. I myself personally want to see the voodoo gods.

"Lovecraftian" isn't a patheon.

true, but still, X patheon is not in game is not a valid reason as to why a certain god or goddess should not be added to the game. I have already posted a couple IMO more valid reasons as to why cthulhu should not be added.

I mean..an pantheon called "Fiction" could work instead of lovecraftian or something like that and then they could add any fiction god(that is public domain ofcourse) that they feel could fit in the game and also be fun

not just public domain gods, but any gods that they can get permission for

Yep could be really cool and maybe one day :P I do like the idea but I got a feeling they will try to take mythological pantheons first but since we are kinda on the subject what gods/fictional gods would people enjoy if they got permission/added to the game?
Personaly Id love if they added some from middle-earth like Eru Ilúvatar or Morgoth Bauglir some others that would be kinda cool but might not fit would be Khorne or Tzeentch or such from warhammer 40k universe.

I'd rather play an actual game of Call of Cthulhu to be honest. Adding Lovecraft stuff would ruin it. What about Babylonian? Smite is missing Ishtar for crying out loud. :smiteeye:
