Why does it take so long to launch?

I haven't played in maybe over a year, but I don't remember it being this bad. It takes a good minute or so after I hit play on launcher to even come up and then another minute on loading screen before I get the main screen.

Place Smite in your Windows Defender/Anti Virus software exceptions.

I have the same issue with an SSD, and exclusions on both a 3rd party Anti Virus and on Defender. No difference at all.

had the same issue i just unchecked the HD texture pack DLC and it loads as quick as the standalone again

+1. dlc -> 6+ minutes to load, without dlc -> less than 30sec.
useless support team said dlc doesn't effect and i should try to reinstall smite

Switch to 64bit, especcialy if you are atempting to use the HD textures.

Maybe it's your PC, I had problems not too long ago with the launcher, took like 1 or 2 mins to load, but I switched to a better PC and now it takes 10s max.

ummmm def not my pc, smite is old af and takes forever to load, but BF1 loads almost instantly lol, i'm over it, though now that 4.2 is out on ffxiv :D

Running STEAM (not the game) as admin solved it for me!
