Smite PC using an xbox controller

I recently broke my xbox so I am new to PC. I want to use my xbox controller however the left joystick is causing problems. It does not allow me to walk forward or backwards just strafe. Has anyone had this problem or know how to fix it. In the meantime I will work on using mouse and keyboard

i don't know about that but if you play on pc i suggest you better get used to using keyboard and mouse. the movement with the mouse is faster and more precise and it will put you into a disadvantage some times against others. if you still want to use a controler then have fun!!

My only problem is my reaction time is so much slower with the wasd otherwise i wouldnt even attempt controller

I have never thought about people not being good at wasd i allways a soomed it was the mouses fault lol

I use an Xbox controller because an injury to my left hand makes wasd impossible for me . Sounds to me though like your controller may be the issue though. The left stick could be messed up inside. Either open it up and replace the defective part by scavanging another controller you may have laying around or purchase a new conytroller.
It is possible that your PC is not recognizing the controller . Try unplugging it and plugging it back in. Also double check your key bindings. Good luck with it. Hope you get it fixed.

no problem with mouse for me i can aim just fine im just not use to the keys when trying to hit abilities. I want to be able to dodge abilities also I am just slow for the moment. I am use to the joystick unfortunately.

Hey @TJ, if you feel comfortable with playing with an Xbox Controller over a Mouse and Keyboard, then you do that. I play with a controller on PC Smite myself. I have set up my controller configurations to my likings(somewhat similar to the configuration on Smite Xbox). If you want to configure your own controlls you have to go to Settings > Key Bindings.
You are able to set almost eveyerything to your controller.

If you'd like my Key Bindings, I could give them to you.

yea what are they?. do you happen to have the problem with moving forward and backwards

I set them up similiar to smite xbox but the forward and backward is not working correctly on left joystick.

I’m first trying out smite as well and want to use my controller
I can’t seem to bind my left joystick as wasd
If I could it would make using the controller easier

That sounds odd. Do the other buttons work fine? Might be that you have to adjust the controller keybinds from ingame options.

Jrendon, try binding them in steam controller settings. I believe they have proper movement binds for controllers

I tried to bind them in the steam control settings but I couldn’t figure it out
For the most part I got all the buttons to work except the left joystick
