Pro tips for Match of the Day mode (MOTD)
Hello everyone.

If you, like me, love playing the wacky MOTD modes (Match of the Day), please be mindful and read the modes description and learn from these pro tips:

- In modes where you start with 100,000 gold, do not waste an item slot buying boots, instead buy the potion of speed that permanently increases your speed for 18% and you can then use that item slot for a more powerful and useful item.

- In modes where you start with 100,000 gold, you can buy 5 of each of the 3,000 gold potions for damage and defence and use them all at the same time as this will give you 30 minutes (each potion gives 6 minutes) so you can play almost all the match without worrying about these buffs or wasting a consumable slot for it, as these buffs do not disappear if you die.

- In modes where you start with 100,000 gold, please buy a Chalice of the Oracle and/or Sentry Wards and keep the map warded at all times. You have no reason whatsoever (because of the gold you have) not to, so please ward the map so it makes your games a lot easier and much more enjoyable as you will gain a huge strategic advantage over non warded maps on the other team.

- If the mode has the max 75% cooldown, do not buy cooldown items or avoid items that their main focus is cooldown reduction (except the ones that take seconds of your cooldowns).

- If the mode has a starting 40% cooldown with a max 80% cooldown cap, please buy cooldown items to hit the cap as the extra cooldown reduction is insanely powerful.

- If the mode has infinite mana, do not buy mana potions or mixed potions as it is a waste of time and slot.

- If the mode has infinite mana, search items that take advantage of it and avoid items that focus too much (or their main benefit is) mana regeneration or MP5.

Please feel free to add your tips so we can make this post even better! :)

In addition to that;

With the first point;
- Doesn't apply to Yemoja, you still want boots on her
- Not sure how Ratatoskr works with the Elixer of speed

Also, consumables will auto-consume when you purchase them, if both consumable slots are full (Chalices won't purchase at all unless there is a free slot though).

Mixed potions in infinite mana modes are fine since they give health potions, but Health Chalice + Health potions would be better if you can get them.

Can you please explain why Yemoja need boots when the potion of speed gives a permanent 18% AND does not stack with boots speeds, all other speeds from item do though.

As for Ratatoskr see above, applies the same way.

I know chalices wont be purchasable without free consumable slots, same with anything though, if you have two different items in the consumable slots, you cant purchase any other consumable for that matter. I did not mention it in the guide because it is self explanatory I think.
Also, if someone made the mistake of buying chalices before buying the rest of the potions, you can always sell them so there is no room for error here. :)

PS: To clarify, the speed potion that you buy for 1500 for the store, increases your speed by 18% PERMANENTLY. You just consume it once and you will see you gained a yellow buff icon that is permanent and does not disappear upon death. So you can always use that slot for a better item.
For example you can swap your warrior boot that gives 40 AP and 18% speed, get the potion to give you the 18% speed and then use that slot for another item that is much better than the only 40 AP advantage that the boots give.

Her Omi. The Omi is determined by the max mana. CDR boots give a decent amount of that, and there isn't much you can replace them with that I can think of to get the same amount (maybe Soul Reaver, I'd have to check).
Infinite mana games however, she may not need them. I'm not sure how the Omi works in those.

Every other god should definitely get the Elixer though, just Yemoja might end up with boots anyway for the mana/Omi.

With Ratatoskr I wasn't sure since he doesn't get access to boots. Nice to know it works with him.

You can purchase consumables, my point was that it will just auto-consume them. If both slots are full, and you purchase a buff potion, you'll just receive the buff, as if you had used the potion. Just saves time if you need to re-buy the Potion of Might (500g ones).

Ah yes for the maximum mana it could be useful, but in my opinion there are 3 other better items with 300 mana instead of the 250 from shoes and they give other advantages too in terms of more AP and secondary perks.
Also, all the other mana items are at 200 and in tests I have done, the difference between the 200 and 250 mana points, translate to around only 3% more damage on a skill. I tested in the practice arena with both aoe and single target dummies.

As for the consumables I found the best way to get them was, in order of purchase at the beginning of the match:

1 x Speed potion
5 x 3k Damage potion
5 x 3k Defence potion
1 x Health chalice
1 x Ward chalice
1 x 500g Damage potion (USED INSTANTLY due to no slots)

So, when I die, i only have to worry about clicking once in the 500g damage potion to buy it and thats it since if I am back in base its probably because I am dead already and need a new one, or if I am back due to any other reason, I just buy another one to add to the time (since gold is no problem on those gold modes).
The reason it is last in the list is due to saving a few seconds instead of buying it before chalices.
