Because bots are stupid, and a human player will always be able to find a way to overcome the (usually) artificial challenge the AI in games has. Friendly bots being easier are a handicap I would guess.
Seriously, when you are more experienced at the game, you'll realise how bad the bots are, even on hard.
In this game, they tend to make stupid decisions that a player most likely won't make (other than mostly new ones).
In any case, the AI aren't the best things to learn the game with. It's alright to get the basics down, and try out a new god/items, but they really won't get you far.
But assume ya handicap to make it harder or just your imagination since you see their screw ups effecting you.
making it to where the friendly bots suicide every 20 seconds after spawning is not a handicap. Human players would be an even worse learning experience for me.
Don't worry about winning the match, worry about practising what you are there to learn/practice. A new gods abilities, a new build idea, or whatever else you are there for.
And what exactly are you going to do about it? Cry more in a forum post? It's clearly not "unacceptable" if you're playing regardless.
It is acceptable. Single player is not the focus of the game. I can go in to the AI modes with any god and end the game with a victory. It just takes a long time. The AI is just very stupid even at hard mode.
The problem is, I can't do that in an actual PvP game. So, at some point, AI is going to be useless or even detrimental to your development in the game.
Don't go into AI modes with the intention of playing a long time. If you want to try full builds, go into Custom game, and fill it with bots, and a higher starting gold/xp. Failing that, do PvP, it will teach you more, even if you lose, as long as you go in with the mindset of improving your play (think critically about your own decisions, in hindsight or as you play).
Use AI modes to get a quick look at a new god, try a starting build (first 10 minutes maybe). Usually anywhere beyond that you're likely looking at counter-building anyway.
Jungle Practice is another one that's good for that. Test builds and gods against each thing in the game, including a few AI bots.
