Not really, his 2 strongest abilities root himself in place, his 1 in paticular can be stopped altogether by hard CC and he has no way to escape from someone if they get right in his face, the only way he can safely get out his damage without painting a massive target on his chest is to combo with his stun and 3, but if the stun whiffs or is prevented by Beads or other abilities, than you're pretty much dead if you decided to stick around since Anubis has the lowest health in the entire game.

I like him. COmpetetively, he isn't really viable (though obviously this may be different if you are an amazing player with him), but in casuals he is good.

Bit of a glass cannon, but with good support from the team (yes that's possible in solo queues), he can be pretty hard hitting. I personally find him quite fun to play as, I just wouldn't take him into ranked due to no mobility at all.

Anubis, god of the dead noobs. He's good. People think he's bad because he's a rare guest of tournaments, but this just means he's bad in 5v5 premades with communication. His passive compensates his low mobility by being "better Anhur passive + better Tyr passive + better Freya passive", his 2 sec stun with 12 sec cd is the main reason why people hate him, and his damage output in incredible, a good Anubis can truly carry his team to victory.

and a bad Anubis will miss his stun then die

Ehh, I find him to be decent. Getting highish CDR (not full) and then building lifesteal pretty much compensates for his inability to get out of bad situations. Other than that, as many people have said above, he is not that good in ranked where people generally are better at knowing how to counter stuff.

If you are looking for consistant damage, probably He Bo. His poke is nearly undodgeable and it has a wickedly fast cooldown. If you are looking for gaurenteed damage, then something with a mass CC (Sylvanus, Zhong Kui, Maybe Ymir) or a global ult like that of Neith or Nu Wa.
