There are also several gods who become CC imune while in their ultimate. And Hel can cleanse herself and allies of CC.
#3 - Buy magical protections! Bulwark of Hope or Genji's Guard or even Spirit Robe will do wonders to increase your survivability against her. Even if you are a carry sometimes just not dying is important too! If you are a Tank and your teammate carries are having issues with her, consider getting Shell or Heartward Amulet or just CCing her and bodyblocking the root for your teammates.
#2 - Get Purification! If you didn't do #3 and get magical protections because perhaps you're a squishy carry who needs other items, you need Purification against Nox! Sanctuary will not work because of her silence... And don't be aggressive around her while it is on cool down, unless you went all out and got a Magi's Blessing OR you learn how to do #1...
#1 - Learn positioning and keeping track of Nox's cooldowns! In addition to juking by zig-zagging erratically, if you aren't a Tank and/or don't have magical protections, you have no business being anywhere close to a Nox! Stand behind someone who is a Tank or has magical protections and learn to push out when you have Purification OR she's already used her root so it's on cooldown, and learn to fall back and stay at easier dodging range when these conditions aren't met and she could hit a combo on you at any time! And always get Boots for the move speed to get out of her silence, and consider other options with move speed like Winged Blade to add some more speed and crowd-control-reduction on top of that! Sprint is another useful relic against her for the purposes of repositioning and dodging her combo, but like Sanctuary it will not work in her silence, so you have to use it proactively...
#3 - Protection... really doesn't do much against her in all honesty. Spirit robe is the only thing that hardly makes a difference, and you have to combo that with another 1-2 magical prot items and some hp to even notice a difference in damage against you. Her combo in total 650 + 180% of her magical power. This is just with her two main damaging abilities, which should I mention have a root, and silence, preventing you from doing anything besides basic attacking.
With maximum cooldown reduction, you can be dishing out this 650+180% of damage every 8 damn seconds, which is quite ridiculous. Spirit robe has a cooldown of 10 seconds for its passive, so even if a Nox misses her combo on you, she'll have a 2 second window to lock onto you again and deal the same damage she'll do to everybody else. All Nox needs is Obsidian Shard and she cuts through every defense in the game, just like pen should work. It's pointless. This isn't even including her dash or her ultimate, which are just as stupid as her main combo.
2# - Purification, Magi's blessing, Mantle of discord, all of these items that supposedly 'counter' Nox or any other god with high CC in their kits, really doesn't do all that much. The cooldown is still extremely high, even down to the lowest Puri and a Magi's cloak, a Nox will still be able to CC you if she has a decent team, rendering these items useless. 150s cooldown on Puri, which means a Nox with no CDR items can potentially combo you 11 times before that puri is back up. Of course she won't be able to take every one of those chances, but any smart Nox player will build CDR on her because her kit revolves around that bs combo of hers. You need Purification, and a combinaton of either Magi's Blessing and/or Relic dagger to have purification be even effective against her at all. I actually find Aegis a lot more useful against her, because at least I'll get to maybe survive her ult every once in a while, and not survive one out of every ten of her combos.
1# - This is maybe the only thing I slightly agree on, but this is just very general information that is literally just common sense - avoid their attacks. Of course this works with Nox! It works with anybody! The problem is Nox literally locks you in place for 3 seconds so you can't really do that, now can you? Yes, on her own, Nox maybe isn't a huge threat, but when she has her team with her, she's the most broken thing I've ever seen since MW2 went live with noob tubes. By the way, CCR doesn't work against a silence that has a defined timer, and it straight up doesn't work with roots. So there goes that idea. Wow, her combo is down and I dodged it! Let's go attack her- oh, she's dashed behind her tower and behind her tank who's going to protect her by dealing possibly more damage to my team than she is! (another topic for another day) So, she's instantly going to start pushing the lane again after retreating due to her building some CDR, and have her combo up and ready again to contribute her Silence, Root, and 1000+ damage to this teamfight. VEW. So much fun to play against. You maybe have a 3 second window to attack her when her attacks are on cooldown, which she can run during this time, go into a teammate with her 3, reduce the damage YOU deal to HER with her ult, while providing even more damage and a DoT that procs other items like Gem of Isolation or Spear of Magus. Unless you're a fed hunter/assassin who can take that golden window of opportunity, you aren't going to kill her. She can't die unless she overextends all the way to your damn fountain because of the HP mage meta, where you just build Warlock's Sash and be immune to death.
I seriously do not understand HiRez's reasoning with continuosly buffing Nox over and over again with things she doesn't need, she really needs a nerf. In my opinion the buff to her passive was a nice touch, but she never needed that Dash damage buff, she never needed the cooldown reduction of her silence all the way back before, and she doesn't need a cooldown reduction to her Ult. I don't know what's going on in the conquest scene, but this is outrageous if this is the way they're going with buffing her. I know she can maybe have some trouble with wave clear, but she's fine in every other category. CC? Check. Damage? Check. Team fight potential? Double check. Forcing you to surrender every time you play against her? Guaranteed. Unless you have a Nox of your own on your team, you are going to lose against her every time unless you have a Geb or Aphro or something like that, which STILL might not be enough without Puri and everything else.
I'm really sick of being forced to play the same few gods over and over to even have a chance of winning any more because of Nox and Nox alone. I either have to play Odin, Geb, Aphro, or a warrior which just a ****ton of stick like Bellona to stand a chance against her. Hell, all the way back in Season 2 I got the 20-1 achievement by playing her. You know, season 2? When mages couldn't do ♥♥♥♥ because of the hunter-crit meta and having Nox pre-buff? Yeah. I went 20-1 with her. No offense to Nox mains as your brain is very smart for playing her this much, but she takes no brain to play well. I really want to keep trying to play the higher skill cap gods like Anhur, Ra, Amaterasu, to name a few. But I can't because people keep playing these gods that get all the attention from HiRez since they are literally the most basic and boring gods to play. I know none of the devs can see this, but I just simply want people to stop thinking 'Oh, it's ok, everythng they're doing in terms of changes is perfectly fine!' when it isn't.
I almost never see Nox...
Also, forget balance just being around Conquest... She has a sub-50% win rate in EVERY game mode right now except Arena, where her win rate is not-quite 51%. I was expecting her to have a positive win rate in Joust at least where you have less room to dodge on the more narrow map, but not even there!
So why are they buffing her? Because she's underperforming in Conquest especially and isn't Ah Puch who wins everywhere else... AND they're only slightly buffing her Ult because they know her 2-1 combo is already strong enough that buffing that would be obnoxious.
Take my advice or leave it, make fun of it if you want, but it's why most people (as in more than 50% of them) don't seem to be having too much problem with Nox; at least not enough to keep her from winning more, annoying or not!
Yeah i don't he read it or at least much.
Personally i enjoy Nox but also find her easy to deal with.
Arena: Use the pillars and walls to force her into uncomfortable positions and miss her skills. Then close the gap with a good CC, throw out some burst, then if she isn't dead back off and hit when you can again. High mobility skills easily avoid her 2-1 combo unless the nox is incredibly good. But even then a good guardian will keep her focused and in trouble.
Joust:.......you have so many things to block her skills and movement it's sad.Let your tank(warrior or guardian) force her hand then burst her down. Keep an eye on her in any teamfight and make it your cause to destroy her.
Honestly people seem to forget her 2-1 combo is all she has really then she has to get out of town. Neutralize that and she is just fodder.
This is coming from a warrior/guardian main. If your tank is doing his/her job, Nox isn't much of an issue.
70 seconds at max rank is what...42 seconds with max CDr? Around the same cooldown as Odin ring? While Odin needs his ult to be low because that's all he has late game, Nox has one more tool that she can use and I don't see her falling of. Also, Odin is physical, so he doesn't have access to Chronos Pendant like Nox does and thus she can get it lower even faster.
I believed Nox was fine, but this buff is just stupid.
Not sure why you'd get Shield of Regrowth on Odin anyway, he has no healing to make use of the passive (I assume this is what you meant). Odin should be getting Breastplate and Jotuns already for the CDR, protections, and damage.
