So... the reversal system. What am I doing wrong here?

I am playing against the computer, very lagged. I do a reversal, it does one. I do one, it does one. We wind up where I have just one left. I do it. He does one. Then I have to wait for it to recharge... unable to do anything while he beats me down. Finally I get a reversal charged, and hit it. He immediately hits one. And on and on it goes. I spend half the match unable to play the game.

What am I doing wrong here?

Easy, you have to better manage your reversals. Or - in other words: take some hits. I, for example, don't counter hits, grapples or other stuff while on the ground, if I only have one or two reversals left.

Why does it matter WHAT i reverse? Shouldn't it be when? Don't all t he reversals use a reversal bar, or are there special reversals that don't that I should be keeping an eye out for?

It doesn't matter what you reverse (I just don't reverse ground attacks, because most of the time, they do less damage), the point is: you just can't reverse everything anymore. Which, to be honest, is far more correct in relation to a real wrestling match. And yes, every reversal, from a slap to a finisher use one reversal slot from the bar.

The red reversals use more, and may even use a stored finisher if you have one.

What he's trying to say is don't reverse every single thing. Reverse the heavy stuff. It's no longer possible to wrestle and reverse every last attack. They did it because the ai (and experienced players for that matter) could sit and get in a reversal war.

Yep. What everyone else has said; don't reverse the small stuff. Save your reversals for the big moves, or you'll end up with no reversals while the AI beats you down with impunity. The AI is terrible at managing their reversals, so you'll usually come out ahead if you just let them get their small hits in and focus on only reversing their bigger moves.
