Well just like any other game this one has a punishment for doing a bad job. On some games you get a bad score, fail/restart a stage, or in rare cases you make the game harder for yourself.

This game is no different. You were abusive so now you must pay the price. I mean think about it. If word got out that you were an abusive partner then you shouldn't be shocked that people would avoid you and not want to engage in any kind of activities together.

Exactly, just like real kinky stuff, it's decided what the "safe word" (in this case, Safe Symbol) is and once you hear (see) it then it's time to stop. Forcing your partner to continue when they have stated that they want to stop is being a bad partner and if you are a bad partner then obviously you won't have a good rep and no one will want to be your next partner.
