it worth it, but it's different game that Fallout 1, 2
It's more like XCOM but harder

That depends. Did you like Fallout 1/2?

If so, yes, you will like the game most likely due to the fact that you will be used to that kind of combat system.

The game is canon, although the quality is...janky at best. The game may be played in the traditioal TBS mode or the new RTS system that this game uniquely has. Play it on TBS mode, as the RTS is a real nightmare.

It's barely canon. Partial-canon. Only the broadest stuff is canon. There is a BoS in the midwest and the BoS did build ariships on the west coast in the past. That's it.

I think it's worth it to play, but not worth putting off playing FO3, New Vegas, & 4 just to play in order. As mentioned, it's similar to 1 and 2 in play style.

I keep on failing on the first try, but there is an option to change the type of combat. Its better to use turn based for begginers

Turnbased takes a million years to play, and you miss allot of cool ambush mechanics that are super-op with rts. So i suggest learning them first.

Take Fallout 2 - take away all the boring running around doing stupid missions and reading loads of text - and you get a series of fights (plus wasteland-encounters).

perfect.

This game is what i wished for while playing Fallout 1 and 2 when they were new and it still is fun today.

Fallout Tactics is the best game of the series and it changed the story for the better for me, it moved away from the mystical nature and into a more serious and well thought world.
It changes the whole story by having the good "BOS" wich actually care and help the people in the wastelands, even though they are a small faction they can maybe create a free country.
As for the other gameplay elements, they are perfect, not much to say about it but everything is more and better Fallout things.

Bethesda made Elder scrolls fallout games, not fallout games....they seem more like mods. With fallout 76 they may have destroyed the series.....i mean even the bunker f2p game is more fun than 76.
Also, remember the intro to the game....that's the perfect humor/serious speech/just great scenes

That's true, RTS may take a lot of quick saving though. But it is still more preferable

Définitely yes, for me it's the best game of the serie with New Vegas. Nice ambiance, deep gameplay, awesome fights, just pure fun.

The game should work full screen on almsot any system. Just try to resize it a couple of times and what works best.
As a side note, the game can be stretched so i try to record while i was full screen and the recording was not full screen, a window mode so....i guess you just need to poke around the forums and see if it works

I love it.. It's a difficult game but pretty rewarding as it makes you feel really good to get through a mission. It's extremely easy to mod as well. If you have the time and inclination I suggest creating your own squad using the game tools that come with patch 1.27. You can make each character more specific, give them fun backgrounds and have more fun role playing each individual squad mate. There isn't a lot of role playing to be found in the game so anything you can add to it makes it that much better.

Not sure why you'd be having trouble running it in full screen. You could try installing the high res patch and see if changing the display resolution helps. http://www.nma-fallout.com/resources/fallout-tactics-high-resolution-patch.17/

Also might want to make sure your aspect ratio is set to perform scaling on the GPU in the Nvidia or Amd Control Center app.

On sale, sure. But I guess by now the game is so old anyway, sure why not, and yes I played this so long ago when it first came out.

Not recommended really. I might still play through again myself just because though, this is the type of thing where, although I actually gave it a not recommended review, I would give it a neutral rating if Steam had it.
