With all Devotress deals fixed and stuff? :D
Great way to pave the way for the remake, guys. Count me in!
Awesome :-D
I heard a rumor about a tweet that some trasletor was doing a bit of "fixing" on the dialogue because it was offensive, i truly hope that everything is traslated correctly and nothing gets in the way.
Let's not forget controller support! A huge plus, if you ask me!
As of now, it's kind of the other way around: some curse words were actually beeped out in the original, but they're unbeeped in the English version (because Russian cursing doesn't work like English cursing does; and no, just in case—they're far from numerous and used only when appropriate).
However, you have to take into account the fact that the English texts were not written by the same person as the Russian ones, and any translator, however faithful, inevitably adds their own voice, style, and interpretation to the mix. That's just how translations work. The advantage that we have in this situation is that the translation was done in-house, which allows for a much better understanding of what exactly this or that bit of text was going for.
Does the tranlation take creative liberties sometimes? Yes, it does. But it does that in a fashion that hopefully serves to emulate the same emotions as the original text, not just for the sake of it.
@b★mi, I think he's back to being a child, yes. (I also personally find all that midget idea really creepy and, ugh, no less offensive.)
The original Pathologic featured top notch german translation, right? So I've heard :)
