Bachelor Day 6 - Can't examine blood

So I spent all day going around town collecting the blood samples of Aspity, Anna, Yuria, Lara, and Clara - but now that I'm at the microscope and putting the blood samples under it, nothing is happening. I see the picture of the blood fading in and out of focus, but no message about the results, nothing telling me if they are or are not carriers, no confirmation of quest completion.
When the next day came, it said that I failed to save the lives of my Bound.

Looked up a walkthrough and all it said I had to do was examine the blood, so I'm wondering if this is a glitch or if I'm missing a step.

You're not missing anything, the game just doesn't explicitly react to you examining the samples. Either way the point is it looks like normal healthy blood. You can go back and talk to Clara.

Thanks, the story progressed normally after I talked to Clara about her blood results.
