Bachelor Day 1: no Rubin?

I'm trying to find Rubin after talking to Vlad but I can't find him. I thought he'd be with Grigoriy but he's not. I took a look just now at the walkthrough and it says Rubin should be with Grigoriy but he isn't. I even tried to take a nap (lol) and return to Grigoriy but Rubin is still not there. It's almost midnight in-game now and still no sign of him. What's going on?

Rubin is with Victor, not Grigoriy. :)

This happens often. People have a hard time triggering this event.

What I remember from my playthrough, is that I took Young Vlad's quest to deal with the runaway butcher. Whatever it is you decide to do with the butcher, you go back to Young Vlad and tell him the job is done. After that I think he'll talk about his fear of the plague coming back, and that's when you go to Victor Kain's mansion, where Rubin will be.

D'oh. I restarted the day and dealt with the butcher (helping him) before seeing Vlad. I just asked the lady whose house I'm staying (can't remember her name) where he is and she marked out his hideaway on the map. Does that make a difference?

And I checked all 3 of the Kain houses but no Rubin! I'm trying again, just in case.

It shouldn't make a difference... The quest is started by both characters. Just make sure you report back to the one who gave you the quest after having dealt with the butcher.

Just to be double sure, talk to Young Vlad either way so you don't have to restart the day.

I did talk to Young Vlad and it took me a couple of tries but I ended up finally getting the event to trigger. Thank you!
