basic controls
I just started playing and can't even understand how the inventory works. I tried to equip the gloves I have at the beginning, a small window appear with the gloves. does it mean they're equipped? when I then try to take morphine the morphine is put in a slot in the four slots window and I don't actually use the morphine. How do you make this "equip wepon" appear? I tried to find a kind of manual for the basic controls but there's no wiki, nothing; I know the game is supposed to be obscure, but do I really have to struggle to grasp the basic controls?

Left click on items in your inventory to use or equip them, right click to drop them (they will appear in a new box in the middle of the screen and drop in the form of a bag on the ground when you close the inventory). Everything else is in the controls in the main menu.

thank you!

I've seen a similar question in the forum, so if you wonder this, I think what happened is I was next to something you can loot without knowing it (a crate or something), and pressing "I" brings up both the inventory and the content of the "crate". I thought it was my equipment menu (except I just dropped something in it). Also I have a strong habit from adventure games to right click on items to bring them, which in this case makes them dissapear. And there is no real interface to see what clothes you have equipped. (and one other thing that's confusing, no prompt when you can interact with something,a person, a trashcan or a door)
Anyway this game is harsh, but these interfaces issues I had seem to have been rethought in the new game they're working on. will try to pass the first day without dying (or switch to the bachelor, which seems a little less unforgiving on the first day)

No worries, and that's entirely fair! Some of the UI stuff can be a bit counterintuitive. And yeah, Bachelor is indeed a bit easier to start with, both gameplay and story wise. Good luck!
This doesn't help. If an NPC is sick or injured, how am I suppose to give them bandages or drugs? All I can do is either use it on myself or drop it on the ground. Where is the "give item" or "use item on <object>" command?
