I've seen a similar question in the forum, so if you wonder this, I think what happened is I was next to something you can loot without knowing it (a crate or something), and pressing "I" brings up both the inventory and the content of the "crate". I thought it was my equipment menu (except I just dropped something in it). Also I have a strong habit from adventure games to right click on items to bring them, which in this case makes them dissapear. And there is no real interface to see what clothes you have equipped. (and one other thing that's confusing, no prompt when you can interact with something,a person, a trashcan or a door)
Anyway this game is harsh, but these interfaces issues I had seem to have been rethought in the new game they're working on. will try to pass the first day without dying (or switch to the bachelor, which seems a little less unforgiving on the first day)
No worries, and that's entirely fair! Some of the UI stuff can be a bit counterintuitive. And yeah, Bachelor is indeed a bit easier to start with, both gameplay and story wise. Good luck!
