fallout 2 on windows 8 problem.

i bought and started fallout 2 but it wont run. it keeps telling me its in compatibilty mode. does this mean it cannot run on windows 8 or if theres something i have to do.

Try right clicking the icon in Win 8 and see if you can set it to run in compatibility mode for Win 98/ME

Was having the same problem. Tried suggested method. Ran into a new problem:

"Failed to start. App already running."

Checked Task Manager. Only related app is Steam.

just make an account and then tell them the problem. it took me bloody 20 mins to find a way to contact them without the Q&A thing
also dont use the interplay surpport, i think its long gone

same-ish - except it successfully played for 30mins on install when I was checking, and now I get the same dialogue box as you guys, i will try the suggested solution, thanks :)

ALRIGHT EVERYONE HERE IS THE FIX:
DOWNLOAD PATCH HERE http://www.killap.net/fallout2/expansion/2.2/F2_Restoration_Project_2.2.exe
YOU MUST GO TO FILE LOCATION THEN RIGHT CLICK ON THE FILE AND RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR. THEN IT WILL INSTALL AND THE PROBLEM WILL BE FIXED.
