What do you have to do after the temple of trials?

I got done with the "tutorial" part of the game and everyone in the starting village immediatly attacks me and when I try to leave over the bridge I get a message that the villiage dies and then a game over. Am I doing something wrong?

No you just get his health low and he lets you win. Read what he tells you.

I might be remembring it wrong, but killing him shouldn't make you an outcast in Arroyo. Just restart the game and kill only the radscorpions and ants, not the guy at the entrance to the temple and not the final trial guy, although as I said, I think you may be able to kill him without becoming the enemy #1

Defeat him in battle (or sneak behind him and open the door, he wont notice you. You can also talk to him and with some manipulation maneuvers and luck he will let you go out without fighting) and then go and talk to the elder of Arroyo, you can also do some quests for the people of Arroyo
