Crashing when enetering the world map.

So I just finished Fallout 1 and am now playing through Fallout 2, BUT. Every time I first eneter the world map to head to Klamath for the first time, the game crashes. I was wondering if anyone knew of any fixes to this or if I am destined to never finish Fallout 2?

To narrow down potential issues - Have a look at running Killap's Fallout 2 Restoration Project

The purpose of this project was to add back into Fallout 2 all the missing content (locations, NPCs, items, etc.), that were pulled or left unfinished in the original game, as well as fix some bugs where possible. This expansion attempted to stay true to what made Fallout great and thus the new content was going to be a reality of what the original developers wanted.

"Project Restoration" is a self-contained installer. Just download and install it in your Fallout 2 directory: (NOTE: You'll need to start a new game)

• 1) Go to - http://www.killap.net/
  
• 2) "Downloads" Tab > Fallout 2 Restoration Project > Windows installer: download (~200 MB)
  
• 3) Open the application....Next....
  
• 4) Install it in your Fallout 2 directory ......steamapps\common\Fallout 2
  
• 5) Open Fallout 2, as usual (Steam > Fallout 2 > Play > Play Fallout 2) - At the bottom right of the main in-game menu, you should see text confirming the latest version; currently - "Fallout II 1.02.31" "RP 2.3.3" "SFALL 3.3s"
