Killapp unofficial patch + Steam patch
Hi I have been playing fallout 2 with the killapp unofficial patch, and i would like to know if this new patch will break my game, or whether i need to reinstall the the killapp patch.

Any information will be greatly appreciated!

I tried the game, it is still running and my save files are loading. I am not sure if the killapp patch is functioning or not, since it is mostly a series of bug fixes but so far things are looking good. I will need to find a way to confirm that everything is okay, so i wont run into a game breaking bug later on.
You'll know if killap's patch is running if you see a version number (1.02.XX) at the bottom right of the main menu screen. It will be a number greater than 1.02. And more importantly, there must be a rock behind Klint at the start of the game.

Yeah, it is not showing in my game, just 1.02, no killap's. I'm really sad. The last time I've played fallout 2 was in 2007, I've put around 30hrs already, I dont feel like starting over.
Keep your eye over at NMA. http://www.nma-fallout.com/showthread.php?201223-Fallout-2-Restoration-Project-2-3-2-(Unofficial-Expansion)/page19 Looks like killap is looking into it. Might be worth posting more info there too.

there might be a conflict with some of the files between Killapps unofficial patch and SFALL 2.19a. Something about the ddraw.dll and ddraw.ini files. You might want to to check the patch notes at "http://www.scribd.com/doc/207031672/Sfall-Readme". I will test it when i get home later and report what I find.

And just to be clear, I only used the unofficial patch and not the restoration project patch from killapp.

I'm able to play again now, I used the automatic installer this time, I was using the manual before. I just needed to edit the ddrawn.ini and now I'm able to play and load my saves.
I had no problems using the automatic installer of the RP either. If that's not working for everyone, please post in detail what went wrong.
Also, it might be worth disabling Steam from updating Fallout 2 once you get it fully updated and install the RP as the last step. Honestly, there's no need to update it further once you've done that.

You can do this by right clicking the Fallout 2 icon from your game Library, choosing "Properties", "Updates" and then under the automatic update section setting it to "Do not automatically update"

To add on this, Killap's RP requires a new game for some features to show up, and requires a humongous installation (should be steam default)

Guyz I know that this is an old topic but there REALLY IS CONFLICT between Killap and SFall patch.. I advise run latest Killap (he has Sfall 3.3a inside his patch included) but no way you can run Killap with Sfall 4.0.6 - this is the latest v. now ...

That's probably because the settings file that came with the patch probably was made specific for it and when you overwrite it with default settings you broke it.

Exactly.. Now this is pretty embarassing since it would be the best to have final v of Killap and Sfall installed.. But from what I've heard, Sfall is only the engine tweak so I'll probably stick with Killap and let it be..
