the game is having random lag spikes

whenever im in any area thats a little big, the game will have bouts of lag that last a few seconds, and the screen becomes all choppy. it is very annoying and is making the game almost unplayable, so, how do i fix it?

me too, my frames go from 30 to 2000 all the time, its never stable.

Is this with the fan patch and restoration mod in one of the guides? I was having this issue too until I did clean reinstall with the latest restoration project

Save then reload, fixed the lag spikes for me at least

For me I needed to quit the game in is entirity for the lag to be fix, Honest to god this game is a mess in so many way.

Just play the game with 8 bit, or when you start the game chose Classic version "Better for older system". yeah the resolution will be 640x480 or 800x600 however, there will be no lag ;)
At least it worked for me as well.

Just remove FPS limit while playing classic Fallouts (or set it to 300+). I'm getting tired of posting this again and again.
