Enclave hates my companions...
... even tho they have power armor.
I read that you can get to the oil rig with companions as long as they're wearing power armor and... well, they are! I left most of them behind and only took Cassidy and Davin with me, both wearing hardened power armors, yet the turrets turn hostile immediately regardless. I planned to enter the installations, getting some enclave armors and then picking them up at the entrance, can this be done? Or the fact that I arrived with all of them, including the ones not wearing power armor, is the problem? Os maybe it's this particular variety of power armor that won't work? Can someone give me a clue about what's wrong? I really want to take my bros with me to the very end and don't want to just raid the place.

I think only the advanced power armor counts as disguise. You get shot when you disguise yourself with the regular / hardened power armor and come up to the enclave, don't you?

I myself am wearing the enclave armor I got from Navarro, but other than that I only have two sets of hardened power armors, the one I got in the military base and the one from the brotherhood bunker in San Francisco, both hardened by the Hubologists. I can't make the test either or not they shot me wearing them because Davin doesn't ever stop following me. Altho, I could kill him just for science...
But just in case, is there another set of power armor you can find outside the Oil Rig?

You can find the standard power armor at shops in San Francisco rarely, and then get it hardened with the Shi or whoever. You could also try locking a door with your companions on the other side so the rig soldiers won't see them. Not sure if it prevents aggro, however. The puzzle rooms also contain an advanced mk 2 set, allowing you to move your advanced set from Navarro to one of your companions.

I went to the shops many days and they never had any, but I can take a few more days around there, maybe grind a little.
But is the standart power armor supposed to cover for my companions or only the advanced power armor does that, as Johnny said?
I still haven't tested trying to enter alone with hardened power armor, but as soon as I do, I'll report back.

I believe it's only advanced that works for them to enter the high-security areas at least. IIRC the general barracks and entry levels standard PA would suffice.

Ok, so I just made the tests I said I would. I killed Davin and asked my other companions to wait outside. I entered just fine wearing Advanced PA and Hardened PA completely alone. I thought maybe Davin was the problem specifically, since he's kind of a troll character, and tried to enter with Sulik and Cassidy both wearing Hardened PA, BUT THE TURRETS STILL TURNED HOSTILE! So RN I'm clueless as to why it's not working and kinda pissed off too. I'm seriously considering cheating because something that is supposed to work just isn't! DX
Either that or killing everyone in the base. At this point, I kinda want the whole place to burn >:C

Gah! Ok, I did a little more testing and your companions have to wear the Advanced PA, but you can wear standart PA. However, as Goldfish stated, you cannot get past the Barracks with PA, you need the advanced one. Companions can't get past the entrance with stardart PA. Boy, that is complicated, but It's finally settled.
Thanks everyone for the help!
