Mini map bug
Hi guys,
I've just started playing this wonderful piece of a game but when I open the map the only things that I can see are black background and some sort of green crosses on it. It literally make this game unplayable because I cannot see a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ thing. PLEASE HELP ME, I WANNA PLAY THIS ART

There is no usable mini-map. You can probably get a little more info on that screen if you use scanner, but not by much.
Just edge-scroll to look at the map.

The thing I like the most about the 'automap' is while the the game is in some sort of isometric perspective, the automap is in top-down perspective, making it barely ever useful.

You have to 'explore' the area around to 'reveal' the map, hence why it's called 'automap' back in the day.

But really, the map in this game is more harmful than helpful. I wouldn't bother using it.

I've never once used the automap in any of these games

It was meant to be hard, welcome to the Wasteland.

It's easier when you first play Fallout 1 while following along with the manual, as was intended. When they released this sequel, it felt familiar to those who would play it - mostly, fans of first Fallout. So if this is your first experience, it's going to be especially difficult because you're not going to be used to the way anything works.

The first game is also great and doesn't take that long to get through, even if you don't look stuff up. Just read the manual and follow along with it, then once you're through the tutorial, look up a character creation guide on Reddit and follow that, then just play the game. I just finished it a couple days ago, and if you're enjoying 2 here at all, then you will definitely like 1.
