Which companions should I use?

So I'm having trouble deciding which companions I should use. I currently have 4 charisma and have Marcus and Goris in my party right now, I have access to Lenny, Dogmeat, K-9, Vic, and Sulik. I'm trying to kill the super mutants in Mariposa but Marcus and Goris are getting slaughtered. Also, should I go to Mariposa or Navarro first?

I prefer Sulik and Cassidy. But in my opinion they are pretty weak later in the game so I use them as mules or in easy encounters only.

Mariposa is easier than Navarro if you plan to kill everything. Just leave your companions at the entrance so that they are not getting killed. Same goes for Navarro.

Thanks for the help.I managed to sneak into Navarro a few minutes ago and got some new gear there.I think I'll be able to handle Mariposa now without risking my companions.

I just gave Marcus a plasma rifle and he is doing pretty well with it, he also can't kill me with burst fire anymore.

i dont like give companions new guns any fallout game because when u do it u must also give ammo whole time but they are using their own weapon w/o ammo or invisible ammo idk

In the new Fallout games I'm pretty sure they get unlimited ammo as long as they have some in their inventory, in the classic games you have to give them ammo to use. I have more ammo than I can carry so I gave some to Marcus.

marcus you have to give a plsama gun to. cassidy is great late game if you give him gauss same for vic (but not as good) sulik is great with a 556 pistol really all game round.those are really the only people i use. usally only am able to have 3 though
