First Playthrough with Restoration Project
So I've started, but never fished, dozens of playthroughs of this game and was wondering if it made any difference if I did one with the restoration project as the first one I actually finish. Is there any reason to play without it?

There's really no reason to play without it imo

A lot of the dialogue is "wierder" in the restoration project but overall there is no reason not to play F2 without it. There was just so much unfinished stuff in Fallout 2 on release.

with the rp mod, you can actually have Sulik reunite with his sister

I mean, aside from the fact that the quality is variable and its obvious that its not written by a professional and English speaking writer.
I think its all right and worth a shot, but for more playthroughs, its a bigger hassle with more steps needed to finish the game or to get Marcus.

However, Sulik's quest is neat and worth it.

Yeah, there is a good reason to play without it - since the 'it' in this context is likely the outdated version of Restoration Project patch that you got it from Nexusmods or from NMA.

I actually haven't downloaded it yet. I did notice the Nexus version was super outdated though.

Dont take the nexus one, get the updated one on NMA.
