The best place to mostly avoid that crap and to have decent Fallout discussions is at the NMA forum.

"THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ STATES OF AMERICA! WHO'D YOU THINK I WAS TALKING ABOUT! WHA...WH... THE FU-- I SHOULD KICK YOUR ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ASS. WHO IS THIS?!?!"
Easily my favorite quote. Yet, it never gets mentioned because a first playthrough of Fallout 2 is unlikely to reveal the scene.
I feel your pain that not many fans are willing to try out the classics. I first played Fallout 1 and 2 like 3 years ago and 1 is now def in my top 5 games, 2 not so much but its still great. If more people played the games there's a gold mine of material to be discovered that could obliterate NV's meme lead.
People dying in the Temple of Trials and quiting is a meme on it's own.
When i played Fallout 1, it took me 5 minutes to get how to move and figuring how to shank a rat but the people who die in the Temple of Trials? reason maple syrup has wrap around it so they dont drown in it.
Lmao to me I loved 2 and 1 was a chore
