[Solved] 10luck+finesse+jinx = no player crits?
Made a character with 10 luck and finesse plus jinx trait, but for some reason it doesn't seem to effect me at all. While everyone around me constantly get critical misses I seem unable to trigger crits, for better or worse, at all.

Did I run into some sort of weird glitch or is there something i'm missing? Because it kinda feels like cheating and i'm wondering if I should restart before getting too far.

Using the Restoration mod btw.

Alright, I figured out what was wrong.

In ddraw.ini there is a line called 'RemoveCriticalTimelimits=0' that needs to be change to 'RemoveCriticalTimelimits=1'. Otherwise the game will disable player crits all together for an unknown number of in-game days upon creating a new character.

Also, that old bug prior to Sfall v2.12a that broke critical hits when starting a new game, up until a game was first reloaded, seem to be active again. So whenever you start a new character just save and reload instantly to circumvent this issue.

FYI: The issues are present in both the default steam version (f2 v1.02 / sfall v3.2) and with Restoration Project (f2 v1.02.31 / sfall v3.3 / RP v2.33). So simply updating the game doesn't fix it.

Basically, how Jinxed work is that each time someone or you miss, there is another roll made by the game where there is 50% chance for your miss to be a critical miss.
You can play the game with 1 Luck and Jinxed and be completely unaffected too, you just have to never miss.

And yes Jinxed is really a strong and powerfull trait, it makes for a good Tank/Dodge based build.

There gotta be something else than a 50/50 roll going on behind the scene..

As mentioned with the 10luck/finesse/jinx character critical misses never triggered, not even once, on myself. But when I made 1luck/jinx character critical misses triggered all the time (like 90% of all misses turned into critical failures).

So yeah, there seem to be something else going on.

Not for me, I always do 1 Luck Jinxed Build and I rarely trigger a critical miss. You know, you just have to not miss.
Jinxed is best for unarmed builds, as every other build will have you constantly losing your weapons, ammo, etc. Jinxed is also op because typically its way more enemies than you, which is way more chances of crit fails.

And last thing, the boxing fights are super easy with jinxed. Just don't attack and the boxers will break their own arms and knock themselves out trying to hit you. You can win the tournament without attacking once.

As for the main topic, it is entirely possible that having 10 luck, finesse (another 5 luck basically) and jinxed might create some sort of glitch where you won't crit. It should say your Crit chance in your character sheet, should be something like 20% roughly with all that. Theoretically it shouldn't screw your Crits at all, but it's possible there's bad coding that makes your Crit go negative or something. I know the elder scrolls games like morrowind had some glitches like this that were obviously unintended

You were pretty spot on. Did some digging and it looks like Sfall is the culprit, messing with the crit tables and reintroducing old bugs. Maybe it's some compatibility issue between Sfall/RP and the steam version. Gonna try a clean install in hope of figuring out a solution.
