Fast travel problem in Fallout 2

Every time when I travel on the big map of Fallout 2
it is just way too easy to move to random empty desert, every single time, literally any second.
it's super annoying and my finger get so tried to click my character to get out of the desert.
for example, how many times do you think I would see a desert while I moving from Arroyo to Klamath? 10 times!
it's insane!

What? Are you saying that you get 10 random encounters from Arroyo to Klamath?

Yes! it's not even events! just a empty desert!

Did you click on Klamath or on desert in between Arroyo and Klamath? And is there any text that pops up when you enter the event?

It happens whenever I move, and it said nothing just shows me and my teammate standing at the middle of the desert.

Are these encounters your clicking the triangle to get into or automatically? If its the triangle, stop clicking the triangle (unless its over a green circle) and click somewhere else to proceed.

If you do click it in mountainous areas, you may find caves with loot or enemies to fight, or nothing. The empty maps are a good place to sort out your items or rest for a bit though.
