quests in new reno

can someone give me a reason to bother doing quests in new reno? i already hate the place enough

I personally killed them all and joined Wright as I consider them less evil. By killing them you will gain a lot Karma and become Idolized in New Reno anyway.

Also one them drop sunglasses or something that gives +1 Charisma.

Well, money, and fame by being, a mademan/pornstar/champion.

Gets you ton of xp and you can get the EPA, Sierra Army Depot and of course for that bastard called Myron. He can craft infinite Super Stimpacks. A must need in a Ironman.

There's a ton of xp to be earned here by working for the different mafias. EPA doesn't exist in vanilla Fallout but if you've installed Restoration Project then you can unlock it's location through Myron. There are also quests here that resolve a few things between Vault City and NCR.

Ignore the XP - Stick with the Wright family all the way and be rewarded very well. Kill anyone else in that town that talks down to you not associated with them based on principle. And f**k Myron if you run into him.

Also, there's some things in Commercial Row to check out before and after the game "ends" that are pretty awesome ;)

I also hate New Reno, and New Reno hates me. Talking to anyone powerful there always ended up with them shooting at me. But now they are all dead. ;)
My New Reno quest was stopping the production of jet to the advantage of the people in that village with the gold mines. Erasing all mafia clans REALLY gave me a lot of xp. And I helped that little guy who was hiding and had his treasure buried outside of the town.

even though it's a bunch of xp it really is quite a slog going through the whole of reno and taking out every bad guy. it's worth it if you go to NR around level 10, and you have your energy weapons skill up to 90%+, because one of the families drop so many laser pistols and ammo that you can store in your trunk for when you find the really good energy weapons. the laser pistol carried me pretty far. idk when you went to NR, but i went immediately after settling things in vault city and gecko

I mean, you can just skip the town. There's nothing mandatory in there. You can just massacre all the mafia there if you feel like it, too.

1. become a prizefighter (120%+ unarmed works best, always hit head) savescum each encounter and lay waste on 3rd mf (Masticator, a mike tyson reference. HE CHEATS.)
2. do exactly 2 quests for each evil family (mordino, salvatore, bishop), then go full Wright
3. go to new reno arms, find the hidden stairs near the dogs, and enjoy unlimited free weapons mods from the underground idiot
4. buy back your car, and buy all car mods (you can then steal back all money and cells)
5. be sure to pay Jules 100$ 3-4 times, and learn of all families (helps with Wright)
6. Don't be pornstar, childkiller, slaver for any Wright quest.
7. kill all the evil gang lords with their special method.
