You must be doing something very wrong. Like Dustin81 said, don't just stand in the open. Stay far away from them and snipe. Once they get close, finish off with the P90. Don't really remember what weapons the enemy is using, but if they have melee/short range weapons, you can use that to your advantage.
As soon as they're only 1-2 steps away, spray them with a burst weapon (those fire in a cone, so aim for the most damage for each burst). If they're still standing after the first burst, they would've taken some heavy damage so spray them again. Even the 10mm smg works wonders there.
Doing it this way you can seperate the raiders into 4 sections, easily divided to clean up.
