I'm just starting the game and noobing it quite well. I'm at the toxic gecko caves and figured out I need wellies to walk on toxic sludge, but I can't figure out how to make my wing-man sulik put then on. How do you equip on companions? All I can find is the wear best gear but he he still singes his feets

Rubber boots effect is passive, and you don't have to equip it or holding it to your weapon slot. As long as it stays on chracter's inventory, it will prevent any damage from toxic goo.

Just give spare boots to Sulik and for yourself, then you're good to go. Bare in mind that rubber boots have a chance to melt down if you walk on toxic goo. Not sure when or how exactly this could occur, but it's best to avoid toxic goo by any means even with rubber boots.

Also just figure out wellies mean boots in british. Learn something new everyday.

I wondered if wellies was known as I wrote it and thought what the hell. Ah right didn't realise there were passive effects. Did seem an odd choise: rifle or boots. Loving this game.

Also, if you are lacking boots or just want to keep any party members out of certain dangerous situations, you can ask them to wait behind and just pick them up again when you're ready. I normally only have them wait in a safe town so make an extra save just in case hijinks happen.

That was I was doing. Lure one gecko out back across the smile and fight there. But then my dimwit collegue would charge out into the green. Seems the AI is dumb as hell without micomanaging it. Old game though.
