Fallout 2

Fallout 2

Similar games to Fallout 2?
Fallout 2 was the only isometric RPG to ever really capture me. I tried IceWind Dale, Baldur's Gate 2, Planescape, etc, but those games are all very complex compared to Fallout 2.

Are there any similar games which fit my preferences? NOT looking for DnD games, obviously. Fallout 2 was so successful because it took the isometric RPG genre and made it very simplified.

Basically turn-based isometric RPGs, without the complex DnD rules and atmosphere.

ah yes, i saw Arcanum earlier today when i was googling. Is it turn-based or action based like Diablo? I ask cause the screen shot reminded me a lot of Diablo

This: https://store.steampowered.com/app/552620/ATOM_RPG_Postapocalyptic_indie_game/

think of it like a top down Metro 2033, but with almost the exact same gameplay of Fallout 1 and 2. Just look at the UI

Its not super well known and it is in early access so expect some bugs, but its definitely clear that the developers were going for something similar to Fallout 1 and 2.

Seems a lot of guys are complaining about the game not being balanced right at this point. Like after a few levels the enemies get extremely tough, and ammo is hard to find as well. Either way I hope the devs fix it and polish it off so the game gets better cause this shows a lot of promise.

Fallout New Vegas has different gameplay but it basically improves the roleplaying.

It had like a year to develop the game cause Bethesda rushed it out

Age of Decadence is a pretty good turn-based isometric RPG. It also has a huge amount of branching paths and storylines. Fair warning though, it is fairly difficult.
