Fallout 2

Fallout 2

Unoffical Patch, Restoration Project, and Save Files
Everytime I attempt to play one of my save files, my game crashes before it even attempts to load it. Do I have to restart with a new file or is there another way around this?

Your post isn't clear about whether you added the above and are trying to use a save without.

A few things:

1. You only need the Restoration project as it includes the patch.

2. It is best to add it to a new game. It doesn't mean it won't work but you might have problems.

3. In your Fallout 2 directory, click f2_res_config.exe and set the game up.

I was attemping to start a save file that I had before I had installed the Res Project. I wound up screwing up and decided that it'll probably be easier to just start over a new game instead of trying to start from a save.

Old saves made without the res project wont work it after it's installed. Your supposed to start a new game after you install it. Says so in the instructions/readme .

The restoration project readme says right there that save files from before won't work because of extensive changes to the game. You need to start a new game

Yes, most definately it is easier if that is what occurred. I've seen error messages, but not a crash so it wasn't clear to me what you did.
