Help with Vic

To rescue Vic I need to talk to him, however the guard simply will not let me. I've tried dozens of times and he only tells me speak with Metzger, but Metzger only tells me bug off, I have exhausted conversation options. I have the radio, my CH is 6 and speech 33%. Any ideas?

You must have failed a speech roll when doing metzger's dialogue. Unfortunatly you only have one chance to get the check right unless you reload to an earlier save.

OK another question close by, still in the Den. Tina or Tanya wants me to see what's in the church. I already talked to the guard, but he won't let me in. I take it this is also one of those once-in-a-lifetime speech checks which if i fail leaves me totally out of the quest? Is there another way around it (other than killing them outright- that would spoil the quest)?

Not a one time deal but Tyler might not talk you for an hour if you anger him, best way to avoid waiting is not to threaten him unless you have ST8, just keep asking to see the stuff and if he decline just end discussion and start again.
