Fallout 2

Fallout 2

Am I the only one who hates Fallout 2's soundtrack?
I mean, it's ok for the first five minutes of the game, but if you spend any longer in a town (especially the den) it just keeps repeating. Makes me want to shoot myself.

Shame they didn't take the radio idea of Fo3 and New Vegas.

That would be asking a lot for a game made in the 90s.

Thing about the music in Fallout 1 and 2, like many old games, you aren't meant to listen to it. The music is there to add atmosphere, it's background music and nothing more.

Are you new to ambient music?

While I didn't apprerciate Mark Morgan's (the composer of the original Fallouts' soundtracks) work in the new Wasteland as much as I'd like, I do love his oldschool stuff (such as - you guessed - Fallout 2 soundtrack).
This music, which you have the full right to find annoying, is what made a huge part of the atmosphere of this game - and this goes for Fallout 1 as well. Which is why I personally have a problem with the new Fallouts soundtracks.

Whoever in Bethesda who tried to revive the Fallout series and thought introducing the mainstream Hollywood orchestral dramatic soundtrack to it was a good idea should be shot and killed in my opinion.

Inon Zur's new Fallout music is so different than what he did for Tactics.
