Classic Version
So, you get the option to play the game and play the 'classic version' of the game, it states that the classic version is better for older systems in terms of compatibility, is that the only difference, or are there other differences (such as improved textures etc.)

Classic just means the screen resolutions of the original release.
Non classic just means you can play it in higher resolutions so it's easier on the eye.

Kinda pointless effort if you ask me: they could instead've made it enabled by default at 640x480 resolution, which is the original one used in the Fallout engine.

I ended up playing on 800x600 anyway instead of trying to do higher res or windowed mode (which appears to default to your desktop resolution no matter what you choose).

This was for the simple reason that on a higher resolution, some items on the ground in the game world become hard to even spot (1-2 pixels wide on a textured floor can just disappear), lol.

That and the text becomes small enough that it gets hard to read.

If you have a large monitor (I don't), the higher resolutions are probably great for the wider field of view you get. But the ability to scroll the screen around keeps it from being a hindrance on low-res anyway.

I will say, I'm shocked at how well they've managed to get this to run on a modern system without having to do manual tweaks. An older version just won't work without fiddling...I didn't have to do anything to run this out of the box. :)
