I also killed Mr. Handy -- I have one save that is able to load....every other save crashes when I try to go to any other error :/
THANK YOU!!!!!
I have *never* had the game crash on me when I went to the worldmap at the end of the game, are you playing with compatibility settings?… Also, there's an edit button so you won't have to make new comments every time, it looks like a pencil and appears when your mouse cursor hovers over a comments of yours.
Yeah forgot about the editing.
I ended up finding ONE save game somewhere.....looking at his savegame vs what I had, apparently my problems started really early on because the data discs that I had never showed up in the PIP Boy screen. I had opened them through the inventory, gotten the experience points, but they just never showed up, which meant I didn't get a lot of the data I think.
I used my GOG version to load the savegame I found and ran it with that minus FIXT and it worked. The only difference is I hadn't gotten to the cathedral yet because I couldn't get information on it at the BoS base.
The other differences were I didn't let the Mutants overrun anything, and this game pretty much had them overruning everywhere.
Thanks for all the info and trying to help....your advice did save some head pounding with the shortcut key of 8 for the forcefield!
Heartly welcome, by the way! Remember what F1 on the keyboard does, too. That is a good little help menu for what keys do what.
Then I tried it on the GOG version without FIXT installed and it worked.
Thanks for the F1 hint too, didn't know that! I just kind of dove in with two feet and said screw it. LOL
I started over about 4 times before I really figured it out, looks like I didn't touch the tip of the iceberg either haha.
