2. Inside game folder, for me it's G:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Fallout 2\Fallout1in2\config - open fo1_settings.ini and tweak to your liking. I also recommend reading the README inside Fallout1in2.
3. It's unadvisable to set resolution to the same as your screen, reduce it by 2-3 steps so that UI is not as terribly tiny like in your last screenshot. I usually play on 1366x768 or 1280x720 on my 1080p 24inch monitor.
You can probably set screen settings with f2_res.ini inside Fallout1in2 if you can't change them in-game.
I've played and beaten FO2 a bunch of times back in the day.
With these mods it should feel like FO2, gameplay-wise.
Fixt stuff seems easier
Probably enable CHA boost, intimate relations lol
I've also heard there's a couple of other mods ppl usually download, but are they necessary really for fun/quality of life, or is this et tu stuff enough to enjoy without annoyances and have classic feel of the game first time?
After this I can finally play game and not bother you guys lol - ♥♥♥♥♥♥ ocd is a pain in my and everyone else's ass i think.
2. No, vanilla game doesn't have vehicles. I think I activated that on last playthrough and never ended up using. Game is just not that big to need it too much.
3. Yes, same.
4. I have them on, but maybe you're right. I just played a lot of FO1 and FO2, plus Fallout Nevada (FO2 sized mod), so the critters kinda got mixed in my head.
5. They were there, just not for hire.
6. I think it's just an immersion/QoL thing (or maybe to be the same as FO2?).
7. Yeah, that would be too unbalanced for economy.
8. I don't think so. Maybe if this mod allows followers to wear it (I don't remember).
9. I think the armor is something like the starter armor from the vault in FO3, probably same as leather armor. Haven't tried disguise. Dogmeat is a dog follower, this just makes him different color.
10. Me too.
11. Also some flavour item probably, Khans are a raider tribe/faction.
12. I think BOS rewards are just some more money, don't remeber the items (nothing OP). I think there was no proper merchant in Shady Sands, this probably fixes that.
13. I have this disabled, but will try it next time.
15. I have mutants set to 1, so some challenge, but nothing crazy.
16. I forgot to disable Necropolis invasion, it is too fast, 500 for Vault 13 is hard to fail. Others I left disabled.
I played FiXT at first, had some unpleasant crashes, corrupted saves. That mod has not been updated since 2014 (last time I looked). Et Tu feels better IMO.
I guess I'll do
- a play on "Normal" game and combat difficulty (I did fo2 like that afaik).
- And these Configuration settings:
On
Off
Not sure
BTW, Forgot to Ask:
Worldmap looks nicer in FO2, so I enable this.
I don't have "tougher humans" in my settings, it's probably something new added since I last played. But I don't remeber them being that easy on normal.
Glow radiation is more of an immersion thing - adding rads when traveling through squares near the location.
I think it's ok to turn off all invasions.
1. Not sure what targeting only means.
2. Not sure either, I think it's easy to check by changing settings, the highlight key was either Shift or Alt (can check in-game with help - F1 key).
3. I left it at default.
4. I don't think I've seen a setting for disabling edge panning, so probably no.
So after adding ur response to my consideration, in addition to the ons/off I mentioned, I've decided:
ON/OFF:
Settings:
I'll also use hotkeys in combat to change weapon/function, access inventory, whatever else possible to prevent constantly moving screen down accidentally.
The only thing I'm a little torn whether to keep just the Necropolis invasion on or turn it off... Apparently if it's on, even if you do get there in time and help out the town in whatever way, if you return later, it triggers that it was invaded... so basically I have to get there early and never come back again. Not sure how I feel about that. Also, feel like trying to optimize everything I'm just spoiling stuff for myself like a dummy lol. Once I decide on this toggle, everything else I've already adjusted and will start playing - no more research lool.
I did also read about what kind of char is most smooth/fun playthrough. Seems like Tagging Small guns, Speech, Lockpick. I believe most recommendations were:
As for optimal character, it looks alright to me.
