Fallout

Sooo I messed up...
So I traveled to the Boneyard, but I chose to go straight to the Gun Runners, Now the only way to get out is to, of course, traverse the Deathclaw hideout but, Im not geared for that yet. My current followers Ian, Tycho and Dogmeat have died in the countless runs Ive tried to make through there.

Now I know this is my fault for not saving often but my closest save file will have me doing a bunch of small quests I dont really want to do again.

So my question is, does anyone know of a way to place my group on a different map so I dont have to lose my party to the deathclaws?

try sneaking out of there its the best thing you could do

Did you go to the Gun Runners by jumping the moat in the upper-right corner? You can leave the same way you came, or wait for the moat guard to die stupidly so you never have to say you'd like to buy guns.

No, I came in through the world map. The gun runners map section isn't my problem, its getting out of that map via the deathclaw camp. I cant make it through without losing my followers.

Yea, I'll try to sneak. I keep having the worst luck and a deathclaw is right in front of me when I first go into the map.

Yeah usually you'll end up spawning into the next map right next to a deathclaw. I think the only thing you can do at this point, short of killing them, is running like hell and letting Ian and Tycho sacrifice themselves for you.

Followers arent much good end game anyway. I just finished another play through yesterday, and Ian died on me back in the hub while doing a mission for Decker (same with dogmeat), and Katja died in mariposa military base, and Tycho died further on in the military base.

Unlike fallout 2, the followers dont really level up with you, and are really only there for early game help for the most part. If you're in the boneyard, then i think it's safe to say the followers have lived their usefulness to you.

Of course, you can always try and buy the best guns from the gun runners and see if they will help against the deathclaws.

When you ask help from the brotherhood of steel, are the 3 people they send over suppose to help get through the military base or just help you enter? They ended up just staying outside. But when one of them entered the base, it forced me inside while they remained outside.

Best part is you can actually tap or hold the A key to initiate combat before them Claws do, thus not giving them the chance to start moving before you do.

I lure one deathclaw at a time to the bottom right portion of the zone out grid, then I zone out. When I zone in to that area, he's far enough away that I don't enter combat, i shoot the deathclaw once and zone out. Rinse, wash, repeat.

No unfortunately the brotherhood guys only help on the outside, which is pretty much useless.

However, you can get help from the Followers of the apocalypse to help assault the Cathedral, and those guys will actually follow you all the way down into the Master's lair til they die.

Yea, the followers arent to important to the end game but nonetheless I like having people with me. Dogmeat never dies. Tod Howard agrees :)

And the trick with the A key I dont believe works with the Fallout Fixt patch.
I guess I'll have to leave Ian behind as hes less useful than Tycho.

I'm afraid Dogmeat always dies, no intention of putting out your torch…but his *legacy* lives on. I also assume you tried to spell "TODD Howard", not TOAD.

Also, you're wrong now. The A key thing was reverted recently because Sduibek understood people disagreed with it.… BUT, if you want that back, go to your Fallout directory and open the ddraw.ini using a text editor like Notepad and find "FakeCombatFix".

It was a joke so you'd be a bit entertained, Todd Howard would look funny if he had the shape of Toad.
