Got an alien blaster, now game seems broken
I just started playing Fallout 1. I just traveled east from the starting vault and I got an encounter with a crashed ufo with an alien blaster, now I'm killing everything in one shot. Am I missing some drawback, or is it supposed to be this good and I was just incredibly lucky?

Alien blaster[fallout.wikia.com]

High damage and accuracy; short range.

You were lucky - the AB is among the highest damage weapons in the game.

it's all luck, ive gone through tons of play throughs without ever finding that gun. You just got really lucky.

Yeah, if you get that...count your LUCKY STARS my friend, You have the most powerful one handed gun in the game.

It's a rare random encounter, however, with a luck level of 8 of higher, you could gain access to the scenario pretty early on.

That explains it. I went in with luck of 10 ;)

I was worried that the game was so badly unbalanced when I started mowing through everything with it, but if it's that rare a find I've decided to take my time to enjoy my luck, hehe. I literally just walked one or two squares from the vault.

Haha, nice man. Maybe try playing without and when things get too rough pull that baby out.

I believe that you do have a drawback with ammo. If I remember correctly, the ammo for that weapon is super rare, so you have basically a limit on how much you can use the gun.

The Alien blaster(s) in Fallout 1 & 2[fallout.wikia.com] require small energy cells.

The Alien blaster(s) in Fallout 3[fallout.wikia.com] require Alien power cells (which need to be obtained from specific sources).
