150 days to find the water chip...
So I know when the game first came out people were frustrated by the 150 limit to find the chip and there was a fix that made it so that there was no longer a 150 day limit. For this new Steam update (which is awesome btw) is there still the 150 day limit or has it been fixed? If there is the limit, what can I do? Thanks.

I think the fix was for the "500 days before the mutants invade the vault" thing.

150-day limit for finding the water chip is still present. The 500-day limit for stopping the Unity is no longer present.

Is there some kind of mod to get rid of it? I really like to take my time when I'm playing a RPG.

Don't be afraid of the 150 days limit it is not as rough as it sounds. But one advice in general for both Fallout one and two => Save often and use multiple saveslots!

SPOILER

Well if you nearly hit the 150 days before finding the water chip there is a chance to buy you some more time through a water delivery service in one of the towns.

Finding the water chip isn't complex if you just follow the hints through the different towns / locations and when you finally deliver it back to your vault the time limit is gone but who says that the game will be over at this point? :-)

It wasn't fixed because it wasn't something broken. You needed to find that chip and do it fast. And even so, 150 days is more than ge nerous amount of time to do so.

150 days is long enough to find it, trust me. But if you still need extra time (another 100 days) you can buy it in game.
Thanks, guys. Having a blast. I want to beat Fallout 1 (which I've played COUNTLESS TIMES but never won lol), then Fallout 2, then Fallout 3, then Vegas hah

This should help with that: http://www.nma-fallout.com/showthread.php?194562&p=3818107&viewfull=1#post3818107

Just choose custom installation, and you can choose how long you want the chip timer to be (If you want one at all) and if you want to restore the mutant invasions.

Also includes many excellent new features such as telling your companions to get the ♥♥♥♥ out of doorways, and being able to tell Dogmeat to stay put.

Yes, you should definitely install Fallout FIXT at least for several bugfixes (there is a bugfixes only installation option for this mod).
