Stuck in a jail cell

It's my first time playing Fallout 1, so please don't tell me any spoilers or anything, but anyway, I went into Necropolis, and spoke to the guy in charge of the super mutants there (or at least, is second in command after the Master, apparently), and I refused to tell him the location of my vault. So now I'm in a prison cell and I can't work out how to get out. I found a dead body but all it had in it was a gun and some stimpacks and I can't pick the lock or talk to the lady in the neighbouring cell, and the mutants are just standing there. Can anybody give me a hint or is this a bug or what?

Flip walks back and forth from the cells to the northwestern location of the cell block, though your items go into a locker not far from the elevator in the room occupied by three mutants… you can convince one of them you're also a super mutant, but avoid doing it with the others since the check might fail and reveal you.

I just got captured, but I managed to lockpick my way out of the door, you just have to do it a lot. If you need that mutant guard to walk away, try doing first aid skill on yourself a couple times, and he should start walking away.


EDIT: I just escaped :D! Once you get out of your cell door using the method I mentioned, start spamming the A button, it should bring you into combat mode, and start walking through the hallway with that other mutant guard. Immediately after you spend your last action point moving, spam A like crazy again.

The idea is to set yourself in combat mode before you need to move past enemies, and this blocks them from starting combat with you. The most important thing is that your last action point always ends in movement, and RIGHT AFTER you stop moving SPAM the A button, that way you can get to walk again, after you spend your last point, spam A again. Do this method to get past all the enemies.

Do a bit of exploring to find your gear, and then go to the northwest elevator. It will be blocked by a red force field, you can walk through this, but it will deal a lot of damage to you. Once in the elevator, go to level 1. At level 1 there will be loads of guards and force fields. Do that A spamming trick, and the guards won't be any issue.

But now you probably realize you are blocked behind those yellow force fields, all you need to do is spam the repair skill on the part of the force field door that looks like a tesla coil, it may take many tries, but you will get through them eventually, well, I think so at least.

Once you get outside the base there is a guard waiting to kill you, as well as guards around the whole area. So you need to spam the A button as soon as the screen loads before you go outside. Continue the A button trick to leave the area, and you're free!

I REALLY hope this helps you, on one of my first playthroughs I had the same problem you had here.
