What are the best weapons?

Not looking for "big weapons"
maybe a rifle or something, gotta kill deathclaws.

My favorite is .223 pistol, is it the best? one can argue, then again I don't know if anything can beat alien blaster.

According to the wiki [http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Alien_blaster_(Fallout)], the alien blaster has the "highest damage-per-action-point of all single shot weapons in both Fallout 1 and Fallout 2, as well as the second-highest ammunition capacity of all single-shot weapons in both games." but i really like the red ryder le bb gun at low levels. unfortunately, both of those are things you get in special encounters.

I prefer to kill deathclaws with an alien pistor for critical hit in the eyes. With good luck (necessary to obtain this weapon) you can kill it with 1 shot.

Yeah the alien blaster is the way to go if you find one. Plasma rifle, turbo plasma rifle are good. If you have the right character build the sniper rifle can be effective. Otherwise try using some explosives and armor piercing rounds.

I killed a death claw with a combat shotgun and followers. Aiming for the eyes is effective, listen to Harold when he gives you advice. Respect the harold brahsef. Also as the guy said above le bb gun is insane. I used it to one shot all the muties at the end. Of course I got crits like crazy but i'm sure you can try to imitate that effect.

Yeah when you get a plasma rifle, go to the store in the Hub I think. And look for the guy named Smitty. He'll upgrade your power armor and plasma rifles :D

You can get the Red Ryder LE BB gun from a random encounter. Luck 9 or 10 required

Make sure you thouroughly search the house in the Bobs car mart encounter.
Make sure it's the LE one also.

Smitty is in Adytum. He'll upgrade it after you get the parts for Miles from the deathclaw infested area between the Blades and Gunrunners. If your lucky, the deathcalws will be out of the way and you can go around the bottom of the map and get the parts from the dead guy, (or bloodstain if you went there before) then get back to Miles with the parts without fighting the deathclaws.

Chase the raiders all around the camp with that thing on... you know they aren't getting away. Giggle as they exit the building just to meet with "Sir Whoopass Knuckles the IV of Bruisechester".

Punch "The Master" in one of his eyes. Punch him again. Make him forget what "unhurt" is.

What's that? I stole your pistol and you are now hostile to me and so is pretty much everybody in this dump you call "Junktown"?

You know what to do...

The gatling laser is pretty powerful, I've hit criticals that have done 230 damage with it
