You cannot grasp the true form of the dehydration's attack! It randomly appears upon a failed Outdoorsman skill check.

No seriously, don't bother with them. It's rare, even with low Outdoorsman skill, to fail the "find water" check, It's a random event within the possible random events you can get wandering around the desert.

Worst case scenario you just take a few points of damage.

this. I sold all of em except one incase of encountering those events. Never happened. So just sell all of em. Even if you encounter those events eventually, in that time you will have so much stimpak, the damage you'll take will be pointless.

so yeah, useless item, sell it.

Way late to this, but I came here to see if I needed to refill my canteen at all. Had my Vault 13 Canteen taking up space as a gag when I got two dehydration events in a row where it said I survived because of my reserves. My canteen will stay on my hip forever.
