So... How do I get a rope?

I've been wandering around for almost an hour looking for how to get a rope for Vault 15, but I can't find anything. Is there an alternate solution? Maybe there's a trader in Junktown or The Hub?

You can buy one from Seth in Shady Sands. You can find a few more in Shady Sands if you explore thoroughly. There's also one somewhere inside Vault 15.

Barter with an NPC at Shady Sands. You're bound to find one. In fact, I just got a rope from one of the guards at the settlement's gate.

its funny because I can only think of 2 instances where I need a rope, and yet I always find myself with a ton of them in my inventory.

I have used it twice and know there's only one more rope needed yet I'm still walking around with extra lol

Shady Sands has at least 2 and there is another inside Vault 15 itself. If you have not found a single rope so far you must not be looking very hard. Barter and bookshelfs are your friends and should be embraced.
