Fallout

Fallout

Has there ever been an effort to remake Fallout?
I imagine a remake in the same vein as how Diablo 2 Resurrected was done would be amazing. Same gameplay, story, camera, art style, just with a fresh new coat of paint and more modernized QoL adjustments for the controls. In this post Baldur's Gate 3 world, I would think a remake like this for FO1 would do very well considering the spike in interest in Fallout thanks to the show.

To remake or to remaster, should be the real question.
This game is Outdated in gameplay, graphic and even in game world desing, to remake it will require to ditch the entire game and do from scrath.
I will say like Todd Howard,Glory be on is name, They are perfect the way they are.
We don't need a remake. Just play the original and enjoy it for the fact it was good for its time and gave you your shiny new modern games.
As someone who grew up with these original games (the first 2 Baldur's Gate games are my favorite) I can tell you it's sad how many of you nee fans jumped into 3 and then crap on all the originals; the games that gave you what you love. BG3 is good but different from the other BG games. The old is perfect and the new is different and it's own thing. We don't nee to change the old to please you new; shiny game lovers. Just enjoy it and understand that it was harder to make games back then.

The concept may have been great, possibly even revolutionary at the time. But being honest here, it is a buggy and some times broken mess. Perks and skills that do not work as intended, if at all, that reduces the amount of possible builds to only a few. The isometric view is horrible, easy to miss things that should be visible. Quests that are broken. A remake would do wonders. Possibly there are patches or 3rd party fixes for at least perks and skills and broken quests. But it can not fix the underlying issue of the other things.

Nah. And I'm not talking about changing the game, I'm talking about a new coat of paint, modern QoL functionality, and fixing longstanding bugs and half-baked features. The whole vibe of Fallout 1 & 2 shouldn't be locked behind an inaccessible presentation and reliance on community fixes. I'm sure Tim Cain and Leonard Boyarsky would love the opportunity to revisit their baby. Fun fact, I actually worked with Boyarsky at another company years after Fallout came out and was just starstruck. That happened a lot early on in my career, meeting vets who worked on(in my mind) legendary games.

Also, I'm not a new fan. I was in art school when BG1 came out and I missed nearly a full week because I was *sick*. Planescape: Torment, and Icewind Dale 1 & 2 followed it. I played all of Black Isle's D&D games. The OG games in their OG form still exists. A remake won't erase that. It just makes an old, ugly game, beautiful and shiny again, making it much more enticing to newer audiences and bringing in more fans to this venerable series. Which is ultimately what all us old Black Isle fans want, right?

I doubt there is any chance this happen. Bethesda belong to Microsoft now, you can say good bye to any games that let you be good or evil, Microsoft will not tolerate any controversial games, it could hurt their stock price by a couple % and that means billions.

You can be a raider in starfield but it's pathetic.. And that was writen before they got full control of bethesda. We will just get non offensive sterile dialogues from non sexy characters from now on.

Ah yes, I am sure Microsoft will have game with LGBTQ+ agenda like same sex mariage and normal human being that love each other.
This never happend before! Can you imagine a game with such thing becoming a cult classic with a zealot defender that will protect it to hell and back? It will never happend and will never sell.

Not officially, Todd Howard has stated in several interviews that he has no interest in remastering old ES and fallout games, he says the original release is the way the game is meant to be played. There has been a fan project or two that gets hype and slowly dies out over the years.

Something are better left as is.
Fan project always die out because they fail to understand that game design have evolve and some game can't be transfert to X to Z.

If memory serves me right, you used to be able to woo men in Fable. Not sure you could marry them, however.

Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magick Obscura let you have sex with animals. Although they were not under Microsoft, just on the platform.

Imagine seeing the tv series' lore changes and not seeing the very real corporate kowtowing to the CCP because a fictional version of China launching nukes in a fictional setting might offend a communist official that probably deserves to be offended; on top of the blatantly obvious and cringey statement against profit that existed nowhere in the original games.

A remade Fallout would suck.

Tin foil hat is to tight for the blood circulation to the brain, make sure to un-tight from time to time.

He gonna pretend that Gizmo don't exist or even Iguana Bob Frazer? Or that the master will surely let free market capitalism to exist in is Utopia?

Media literacy is not your cup of tea or you just parrot talking point.

Chi-com gaslighting on Steam forums? More common that you think.

The words of MCA:

Was Fallout, as envisioned in Fallout 1, intended to be a powerful political statement about the evils of capitalism?

Nope.

How do I know?

Becase I went to the source and asked.

Selling ass jerky is not a statement against capitalism, bruh.

Not against capitalism per say, but that greed exist and a lot of evil in the world happend because of it.
I am sure if you ask MCA(what ever he is) at what age a child is legiable to be sent to the factory, I am sure he will say 16-18 year old and not under. Those that mean MCA is a commie? NO!

Just because it never say ¨¨capitalism bad¨¨, don't mean the game show that wealt and power can corrupt and destroy one soul.

On a side note, I like that you cite MCA proving my point about parroting talking point.
