I've played Fallout Fixt several times myself, and now I'm going through Et Tu for the first time.
Fallout Fixt is a great mod and was very enjoyable to play. But as the name implies it is still Fallout 1 only revised, with numerous fixes and improvements. However, there are still a few bugs and troublesome mechanics from the original. On top of that, the mod hasn't received any update for a long time.
Fallout Et Tu, on the other hand, is Fallout 1 on the engine of Fallout 2. So we get all the engine improvements of the second part of the series. Among other things, improved management of companions, and enemies from F2. And also a whole bunch of items known from F2. I would even say that there is too much of it for such a short game.
Both mods are worth your attention. But I would say that currently it is probably better to play Et Tu. It's just newer and continues to get patches.
So as far as I can tell, Fallout Et Tu hasn't had an update since it launched...
I'm just finishing Et Tu myself. A very good mod, but two things bother me. The first is an excess of various types of items from F2: weapons, armor, etc. Now there is so much of it that it hurts my head and there is simply no time to take it all in, because the game is too short for that.
The second thing is that some things, e.g. reputation in cities, are slightly poorly implemented in F1.
Fallout1in2/Et Tu V1.0 released early 2020, and the latest stable release (1.9) is from September 2023. And its had updates since, including today.
¨¨HIT GAME¨¨ IMAO the delusion, no It went under because the industrie move on leaving them with old tech and bleeding failling departement.
You have to look at the succes of Blizzard with Diablo 1 selling more copie than FO 1 and Fo 2 combined to realise that they were on their death bed.
Stop worshipping failling Dev/studio,that is bad for honest perception of reality.
They were not the main reason of the downfall, but were the stepping stone that lead to their demise.Their poor management and lack of willing to change bring them to their grave.
No that quite wrong, but there a lot to impact to undrestand their downfall.
Even by 1997(Fallout 1 realease) they were on a massive economical hole on the verge of Bancrucy and by 1998 itself in bankruptcy court, and to avoid closure the company listed on the NASDAQ exchange(Titus coming fast,IMAO).

A lot of compagny try to capitalised on changing trend(Full 3D gaming) as gamer develop better taste and game like half life 1 Was the stepping stone for the future.(imagine seeing FO 2 and seeing Half life 1),no under FO 2 sale like 1/3 of the copy of FO 1. CRPG are the Big Brain Ego of the RPG,It is just RPG except with keyboard and mouse.
FO tactic sold 2X more copy than FO 2, the reception is deserve but The game is better than FO 2.

Funny enough, Fallout BOS was them telling that was it or nothing for interplay. They did there best to make a good game(it fail) but If it will have sell well he may have Van buren.
Interplay fail on there on because they got to big for their pants and should be accepted as such.
They still made several hit games. Here's the thing about business; you can make successful products, but still screw up so bad financially that you go under. You can also make mediocre products, but do okay if your costs are low versus your income. Interplay made several of the most popular CRPGs ever made, doesn't mean I disagree that they bungled their finances. I don't really know why you're here when all you want to do is complain in broken English about how much you're pissed off at a game from 1997 and a company that no longer exists.
I'm starting to wonder too...
You should check the definition of¨¨Hit game¨¨ as many of their game sold well but not to reach hit level you claim.Beside they were publisher too, so be careful when doing researche about their catalogue.
Yes one of their failure Was to fail to have more diverse game than RPG ¨¨CRPG is a lame term¨¨ and it show even as the begunning of 1997 so their ¨¨succest¨¨ is one of ultimated failure.
I love the game BUT I can accept that the game is a relic of WHY you don't want to go back!
I guest when you stand on the throne,go back to the field is hard.
