i cant get dogmeat to follow me please help

its been 2 years in game before I realised dogmea was in junktown i haveno companions on me and everytime i click phil he wont give me the quest i have the iguana on a stick

doesnt the guy phil suppose to stop you and start the quest or are you suppose to talk to him manually for him to do so ? because I did both and no quest poped up the year dogmeat is suppose ot arive I waited 2 years later would that effect the game in some way?

Also, the quest is unmarked and thus doesn't appear on the Pip-boy.

I did I wore the leath jacket too turns out its a bug in the game that interplay never fixed or if there is a patch I dont know where to find it

Fallout Fixt and even the TeamX 1.3.5 patch happen to have fixed this bug, as far as I know.

ok I did what you said and still nothing. so its confirmed my game is glitched it does nto matter anymore but thanks I did try leather armor before and got the two mistaken so maybe thatwas it
